The offer is open to everyone, including customers of Free, Bouygues Telecom and SFR, and works as a second line added to the smartphone. For a service that advocates simple, no-hidden-cost communications, this is a chance to revisit a deeper market trend: the customer acquisition war is no longer only about plan price, but about the ability to let prospects test the actual network before any commitment.

The scheme, officially launched by Orange on 1 July 2026, fits in a few lines:

One sign-up per person is allowed. The downloaded eSIM coexists with the smartphone's primary line: you can therefore keep your Free, Bouygues or SFR plan and use Orange as a secondary data line, or switch the smartphone's data connection to Orange for the duration of the test.
What the Orange eSIM does not cover
The offer is deliberately "data only": no voice, no SMS, no MMS. In practice, you will not be able to:

- Send or receive SMS, including for banking services or two-factor authentication codes.
- Send or receive MMS.

At the end of the 31 days, Orange pushes a transition offer: a promo code granting €10/month off the Série Spéciale Hello 120 GB 5G plan, billed at €14.99/month with no commitment instead of €24.99/month. The code is valid until 10 November 2026.

Why Orange is betting on technical testing
The operation fits into a broader movement: in 2026, the selling point is no longer about price but about actual network quality. Successive Arcep quality-of-service studies, as well as the State of the Internet in France 2026, have raised consumer expectations. For users, the practical interest is clear: measure Orange's 5G at home, in your neighbourhood, at your workplace, without signing a 24-month plan. If the test is conclusive, the €14.99/month promo code becomes one of the best data/price ratios on the market. If it disappoints, you uninstall the eSIM and go back to your usual line.
Caveats to keep in mind
Three common pitfalls deserve a mention:

- Identity shared with Orange: the ID scan implies the transmission of personal data. The processing is governed by GDPR and Orange's privacy policy, but it is a point to factor in if you care about privacy protection.
