5G rollout continues in France, authorised and tracked by ANFR. This page presents the number of 5G sites authorised and actually in service, across three frequency bands (700 MHz, 2.1 GHz and 3.5 GHz), each offering a different trade-off between range and speed.

Les bandes de fréquences de la 5G

700 MHz

Methodology & sources

Figures come from the public open data of ARCEP and ANFR, aggregated at national level. Each block states its source, reference period and licence (Licence Ouverte Etalab 2.0). Data is refreshed automatically with each new official release.

How many 5G sites in France?+

The number of 5G sites authorised by ANFR, and the share actually in service, are shown in the key figures above.

What are the 5G frequency bands?+

French 5G mainly uses three bands: 700 MHz (good range), 2.1 GHz (trade-off), and 3.5 GHz (high speeds, shorter range).
